In this Research Boot Camp for parents, we’ll be focused on how to research accurately and efficiently using the plethora of resources available, how to identify credible sources and examine bias, and use this knowledge to help your learners dive deeply into the subjects they are passionate about.

Critical thinking, analyzation, and resource management are all essential skills for any learner.

In this Research Boot Camp for parents, we’ll be focused on how to research accurately and efficiently using the plethora of resources available, how to identify credible sources and examine bias, and use this knowledge to help your learners dive deeply into the subjects they are passionate about.

We will have two live discussions (one each week), plus optional participation on the discussion board.

Participants will collaboratively choose the in-class topics we research together, and have complete autonomy when choosing your own research to present for the final class. Class will also include an assignment to work on with your kids.

Wednesdays 8/5 and 8/12 at 9am (Mountain)

1 hour for live session, 1-3 hours per week for out of class work

Critical thinking, analyzing sources, research, resource management, teaching self-direction

Handouts and resources will be provided to reinforce the information taught in the live classes. Participants will be able to access the instructor outside of class hours to tailor their research project to their individual needs and how to mentor their own students. Rubrics and feedback will be personal, and based on each learner’s goals.

When examining bias, issues such as racism, sexism, exploitation, and war may come up.
