This course introduces students to more complex spelling patterns, with weekly practice designed to help them internalize spelling rules and word roots, not just recite them. It’s a solid next step for students who have outgrown basic lists and are ready to stretch a little further.

What’s Inside:

Commonly Misspelled Words

Students begin working with high-frequency words that often cause trouble, even for experienced spellers. We return to these words regularly to build real fluency and accuracy.

Latin and Greek Roots

Students are gently introduced to word roots, starting with the most common and easy-to-recognize. It’s an early start to the kind of word study that will serve them well in the upper grades.

Persistence Spelling

Every five weeks, students circle back to revisit words they previously missed. This feature helps reinforce memory and encourages long-term retention.

Tactile Spelling Practice
Each week includes optional hands-on suggestions for movement and sensory input: writing in sand or shaving cream, spelling while balancing or jumping, and other creative ways to engage the brain and body together.
