Another Fun Game in Honor of Banned Book Week, 2016

In case you are wondering why both of the quizzes have a teen reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, that is the teen book club selection this month. It is also a banned book.

Continuing our celebration of Banned Books Week, here is a fun little quiz to see if you can match the quote to the banned book. This is easier than the first quiz, so if you gave up on that one, why not give this one a try. Write your answers in the comments section.

  1. “The mark of an immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.”
  2. “You have never really understood a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”
  3. “But I don’t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness, I want sin.”
  4. “How nice — to feel nothing and still get full credit for being alive.”
  5. “It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
  6. “Just because we don’t understand doesn’t mean that the explanation doesn’t exist.”
  7. “If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him, give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such thing as war.”
  8. “The truth, it is a beautiful and terrible thing and should therefore be treated with great caution.”
  9. “Nothing was your own except the few small centimeters inside your skull.”
  10. “The world is changed. I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.”
  11. “It seemed funny to me that the sunset she saw from her patio and the one I saw from the back steps was the same one.”
  12. “If everything’s the same, then they are choices! I want to wake up in the morning and decide things.”
